Consistency is Key
This…my diet is not “perfect.” I have days where all I eat is saltines and baby cucumbers. I drink occasionally and when I do I make it count. I’ll eat the crust off pizza and have popcorn at the movies. Same goes for my workouts. There are days I’m so busy all I have time for is a walk or 20min jog on my treadmill. Life happens and is meant to be enjoyed. I try my best everyday but things don’t always work like I want them to and that’s ok! Proper nutrition and fitness should be helping you to maximize all areas of your life and be a positive influence not be another stress. What I don’t EVER do is use these days as a reason to quit or give up! Nobody is ever going to achieve perfection so stop making that your goal. Accept yourself and your bad days and strive for consistency instead. I am consistent 90% of the time and I am happy with that and my results and most importantly it is sustainable for me.
We live in a world where we are accustomed to getting what we want: quickly and easily. Sustainable weight loss, muscle, fitness and nutrition goals do not work this way. There is no easy fix. It is consistency plain and simple. It doesn’t have to be strict but it does require motivation, self acceptance and continuance even after failure. Stay positive and be realistic and keep going ? It might not be easy but it will be worth it!
